We are excited to announce the development of this new content management database driven system web site! This content management system allows for community development of links and other information. We encourage you to register for an account and start contributing information, if only to add a link to another World Peace project!
On Oct 31st 2008 we made the commitment to move forward toward incorporating our project and to also make an attempt to obtain a "Letter of determination" from the IRS which will allow us solicit tax-deductible donations for this project. Any current donations are not tax-deductible. All of our historical content has been removed and we are currently restructuring our web site to meet our dream mission for the domain GlobalPeace.Net! Thank you for your consideration and please revisit soon! Best 'net regards,
Joe Rinehart, co-founder The Global Peace Network Project |

I'd like to introduce Thomas Cook and thank him publicly for contributing hundreds of peace oriented links on the Global Peace Network project!
Tom is from Canton, Ohio and has proven himself an outstanding citizen of peace through his volunteering many hours to help organize our peace links! Tom has taken time to verify that all the links he's added to the link directory are actually working and not showing 404 errors!
Tom is already asking about adding RSS news feeds to the project since he's found some very interesting feeds in the site verification process and he's also committed to the principle that we wish to make it easy for people to find an easy path toward news of peace....
Thanks Tom! |

The Global Peace Network Project Team consists of volunteer developers, designers, administrators and managers who, together contribute energy toward making the project successful! Together we have assisted many projects that have enjoyed a direct benefit to the public from the smallest little league baseball teams to several government agencies on various scales. |

The need for non-profit Internet production development and web hosting is as important as ever! We suspect that the many non-profit sites hosted on AOLs' Hometown never thought they be out of a site! Here is the message I received while researching a peace flag site linked from the Open Directory:
Posted on Sep 3rd 2008 12:00AM by Kelly Wilson Dear AOL Hometown Users, We're sorry to inform you that on Oct. 31, 2008, AOL® Hometown has been shut down permanently. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. -- The AOL Hometown Team |

In the process of researching the web for peace links of value we discovered a gem! The GPI was founded by Steve Killelea, an Australian international technology entrepreneur and philanthropist. It forms part of the Institute for Economics and Peace, a new global think tank dedicated to the research and education of the relationship between economics, business and peace. This report is written in cooperation with the Economist Intelligence Unit. The index is composed of 24 qualitative and quantitative indicators from highly respected sources, which combine internal and external factors ranging from a nation's level of military expenditure to its relations with neighbouring countries and the level of respect for human rights. These indicators were selected by an international panel of academics, business people, philanthropists and peace institutions. The GPI is collated and calculated by the Economist Intelligence Unit. The table below provides the GPI rankings for the 140 countries analysed in 2008 and the 121 countries analysed in 2007, as well as year-on-year comparison. Countries most at peace are ranked first. A lower score indicates a more peaceful country. You can click on a country to see the detail of its peace indicators and drivers.
